Julie and Chris were married October 12th, 2012. Originally from Toronto, the lovely couple wanted to share their intimate wedding with friends and family here in Ottawa. The reception was held at the Museum of Civilization.

Tia Mowry Hardict and her husband of 5 years Cory Hardict celebrated their anniversary by renewing their Wedding vows. The private ceremony was held on a beach and was attended by close family and friends. Their gorgeous son Cree was part of the Ceremony.

You have your hair stylist booked, your makeup trial done! Don’t forget those nails! On your wedding day, your hands will constantly be on the show. The photographer will take close up photos of you holding the bouquet, the exchange of the wedding bands, the signing of the registry; nothing worse than seeing a chipped nail. Don’t forget to moisturise your hands. When it comes to wedding manicures, we prefer looks that are clean and simple. That should not stop you from adding some art if that is what you like.
– We recommend getting your manicure done a day or 2 before your wedding day. Not only will it give you time to get other things done, but it will look newly done.
– Getting your hands and nails well taken care of weeks before your wedding day, will go a long way. You can do this at home, by constantly moisturising your hands, ensuring your hands are not dry, eating healthy and drinking lots of water.
– We recommend going to a nail salon you’ve gone to before. If you don’t go to a salon often, look up a few places, try one and see how it goes.
– You have brittle nails? Try having gel nails applied, this usually helps to strengthen and protect the nail from damage.

Richard came to me about 6/7 months ago wanting to plan a very small, intimate wedding. Cassandre’s family is from Haiti and they were concerned about family not been able to make it for the wedding. Cassandre & Richard were eventually married on April 6th, 2013 surrounded by all their friends and family from all over the world!
When I first met Cassandre, all she wanted was flowers! “Flowers everywhere” is what she told me. Her favourite colour is Fuchsia! This immediately set the tone & theme for her fairytale wedding. Flowers and Fuchsia it was for this bride.
My favourite part of the planning process, was helping Cassandre bring her family from Haiti. It was a hard process with all the visa issues, but they all made it eventually. I ensured everyone was properly booked in to their hotel. This made her extremely happy as it was important that her family attend the wedding!
Food is extremely important to Cassandre’s mother; we had to make sure some Haitian dishes were included for those coming from Haiti. This made for a very fun food tasting session. The DJ set the mood for the evening by playing some traditional music. I had to stop myself from joining in. The music had everyone dancing for the rest of the evening.
I loved every single part of this beautiful wedding!

Today’s blog will be focusing on how to help the groom stand out on his big day. The bride gets all the attention; do you want to stand out? Whether you are looking to stand out from the rest of the groomsmen, the rest of the men in the crowd or you are just seeking the same attention as the bride, here are a few tips to help you on your big day.
Tuxedo VS a Suit – If your groomsmen are wearing a suit, opt to wear a tuxedo. Or you can simply wear a jacket that is a different colour all together.
Wedding Boutonniere- Add a boutonniere to your outfit to give it a little pop of colour. We suggest having one solid colour, preferably the colour theme of the wedding and your groomsmen having another color.
A Tie VS a Bow Tie – Your tie or bowtie should be a different color or shade from the rest of the guys in the wedding party. Go with something that is plaid, stripes or something with print (Your wedding date)
Vests– we have seen men wear just a vest, very popular with outdoor weddings. If all the groomsmen are also going to wear a vest, opt for a different color vest or something with a different texture.

One of our brides recently shared some Fab news with us, she found “The Dress!” We are extremely excited for her and we are currently counting down the days to her wedding day. Before going out shopping , here are a few things we suggest you do.
Research Wedding Gowns! – Do some research prior to going out, this will give you an idea of what it is you are really looking for. Attend a bridal show; they usually put on fashion shows that will give you a better idea of what it is you may want. Wedding blogs, wedding magazines, all provide a wealth of knowledge about dresses- styles, pricing, designs and what not to do. Know what you are looking for before going to any bridal shop. We recommend taking a magazine clip or a few photos of wedding dresses that you like. This is a good start…
Wedding Style! – A few factors can affect what dress you choose to wear on your wedding day. A very formal ceremony normally calls for a floor length gown and sometimes a long train. If you are doing a destination wedding, a shorter gown is most appropriate. Are you looking for a pure white wedding dress? We are seeing a lot of wedding gowns that range from pure white to ivory to champagne to blush pink. Choose a color that you feel most comfortable in.
Decide on the shape of your dress. Wedding dresses are made in several different silhouettes; Ball gowns tend to have a fuller skirt, A-lines usually have a fitted bodice with a skirt that flares. An empire waist gown has a skirt that falls from just below the bust line. Sheath is usually long and straight and is best worn on a fit bride. A mermaid shape hugs the body and flares at the knees. Choose something that flatters your figure and brings out the best in you.
Budget! – Even if you are not sure how much the dress will cost, just having a general idea of what you would like to spend always helps. 8% to 10% of your wedding budget is what we recommend setting aside for your wedding attire (Wedding dress, wedding shoes, jewelry etc.). Try to stick to your budget.

Spring is definitely in the air. The sun is shining, the air is as fresh as it can be, and people are walking down the streets. Not as warm out there as I would like it to be, but it will do. Get rid of the old and bring in the new. Get a new look.
