7. Substitutes
When preparing meals, try using healthier alternatives that are better for your body and gracious to your waistline. You will be surprised at how it still has the same enjoyable taste and remaining flavour!
8. Get Some Sleep
Are you one of those people that believe weight loss is 70% diet and 30% exercise? Although, this may have some truth to it, what about the amount of sleep you get? Sleep is another crucial factor that needs to be taken into consideration when trying to lose weight. The reason for this is, sleep is known to suppress your appetite and raises your metabolism, while allowing your body to rest and recover. This being said, it is important to live an active health lifestyle. However, with a full eight hours of shuteye you will be able to maximize results further, and finally loose that weight you have been wanting too!
9. Stop Stressing!
No matter where your stress is coming from, whether it be a close call while driving or managing your money for the wedding, it triggers the release of chemicals, including adrenaline, CRH, and cortisol. This happens because your brain and body are getting prepared to handle the threat. At first, your adrenaline will suppress your appetite, but once it wears off, cortisol, your “stress hormone” will kick in and send a message to your brain it is time to eat and regain energy. However, when your body is constantly in fight or flight mode, it will store the fat from food around your waist for a quick access to energy as it is getting ready to take action. Therefore, this is how we got the term “stress belly,” because your body is not digesting your food properly and instead storing it to use for energy. With that being said, we recommend finding some simple yoga poses to relieve stress and or use breathing techniques that can help you unwind. We also find the app “Calm” really helps with taking a few minutes a day to let go about any wedding worries.
10. Walk & Talk
Instead of catching up with a friend over drinks on a patio, which of course we all love to do! Why not go for a walk and catch up over a hand packed picnic, this way you can still enjoy a great conversation while squeezing in some exercise and not to mention some healthier munchies. Another great idea is to get your girls together for a group activity once a week, such as a game of tennis or a Pilate’s class. This way, you are staying active while still maintaining a social life; plus it is a ton of fun! You can even plan to all cook a healthy dinner together after your activity; trying new healthy recipes and keeping each other on track.
They say your wedding day is suppose to be one of the best days of your life, but why not make each day leading up to equally as enjoyable! It’s time to let go and start having some fun, stop stressing and start sleeping and stop juicing and start eating!
Cheers!
